Gaffney BPW Club installs new officers
Trysha Blanton will lead organization during 2008-2009 year
      The Gaffney Business and Professional Women's Club installed new officers for the 2008-2009 year in a meeting Monday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the House of Pizza. Cyndi Waters, BPW/SC treasurer, installed Patti Greene as treasurer; Elizabeth McDaniel, secretary; Stacey McDaniel Tabor, vice-president; and Trysha Blanton, president.

      Dear Annie: Since I was very young, I have had an obsession with my health. As time goes on, it's gotten worse. I am in constant fear of having some kind of terminal illness and often can barely cope. I am only in my late 20s and am afraid I'm worrying my life away. I don't enjoy anything anymore and spend most of my time crying or fretting.

      Terry Nicole Owensby and Clayton James Brackett of Gaffney will be married on June 14 at Faith Baptist Church in Gaffney. Ms. Owensby is the daughter of Larry Owensby and Kay McEntire of Gaffney. Mr. Brackett is the son of John Brackett of Charleston and Dee Brackett of Gaffney.

Blacksburg native earns doctorate
      Todd E. Camp, a 1981 graduate of Blacksburg High School, has earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Oakland City University in Oakland City, Ind. Dr. Camp is the son of Norris and Beverly Camp of Blacksburg. He and his wife, Kathy, have a son, Hunter, and a daughter, Maggie.

      The Specks will be in concert, along with a 100-voice choir, at East Gaffney Baptist Church on Sunday, June 1, at 6 p.m. A love offering will be received. Mike and Faye Speck have been singing and ministering for more than 30 years. As an ordained minister and former pastor, Mike Speck has a deep love for the local church.
