Blacksburg native earns doctorate
Todd E. Camp, Ed.D. Todd E. Camp, a 1981 graduate of Blacksburg High School, has earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Oakland City University in Oakland City, Ind.
Dr. Camp is the son of Norris and Beverly Camp of Blacksburg. He and his wife, Kathy, have a son, Hunter, and a daughter, Maggie.
Dr. Camp received an Ed.S. degree in Educational Administration in 1998 and a M.S. in Special Education in 1994, both from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. He graduated from Mars Hill (N.C.) College in 1985 with a B.S. in Social Studies.
Dr. Camp was a high school principal in the Metropolitan School District of North Posey County Schools in Poseyville, Ind., from 2001 until 2003, when he was named assistant superintendent. During his work in education, he has been an assistant principal of Evansville North High School in Evansville, Ind.; assistant principal of Edgewood High School in Edgewood, Ind.; assistant principal of Eastern Greene Junior-Senior High School; and teacher and coach at West Middle School of the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, Ind. He began his career in North Carolina, serving as a teacher and coach at Asheville High School and Kings Mountain.
Dr. Camp is a member of the Indiana Superintendents Association, the Indiana Association of School Business Officials, the Indiana Safety Specialist Academy and the Southern Indiana Educational Center.
