Brookview residents go ridin'in style during National Nursing Home Week
Motorcyclists, Singing Cowboys on hand for celebration
      Brookview Healthcare pulled out all the stops during its recent observance of National Nursing Home Week with lots of fun activities for the residents, staff and visitors. Highlights of the week were Motorcycle Day on Wednesday, May 14, and Western Day on Friday, May 16.

      Dear Annie: I was married for 30 years before my husband passed away five years ago of colon cancer. During his 18 months of treatment, he was hospitalized four times for surgeries and infections, and each was followed by weeks of recuperation at home.

AAUW will meet June 9
      The Gaffney Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will have a luncheon meeting Monday, June 9, at noon at the House of Pizza on Frederick Street. The program will be presented by Shellie Wylie, director of the Cherokee County American Red Cross, and Joan Wood, director of Senior Centers of Cherokee County.

Believer's Institute for Biblical Studies holds commencement services May 26
      The Believer's Institute for Biblical Studies, a ministry of Northside Baptist Church, held its 2008 graduation May 26 at 7 p.m. in the church auditorium. Five persons received a Certificate of Attendance - two in the bachelor's program and three in the master's program. Twelve received a Diploma of Biblical Studies and five received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies.

      Blood drive A blood drive for Brittany Jefferson, a recent Limestone track and field recruit who suffered critical injuries in a car accident two weeks ago, will be held Wednesday, June 9, from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. in front of Stephenson Dining Hall on the Limestone College campus. The Blood Connection of Greenville will be providing a blood mobile.
