BLACKSBURG - Janice Elaine Dover White, 57, of 199 Westmoreland Road, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in York, she was the wife of William White of the home and daughter of the late William Russell and Martha Ellen Boheler Dover. Mrs. White worked in the sewing room in textiles and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Sherri Renee` Deitz and husband, Michael, of Hickory Grove; a brother, Bill Dover of Blacksburg; three sisters, Dorothy Wells and Sue Walker of Blacksburg, and Shirley White of Gaffney; and two grandchildren, Taylor Renee` Deitz and Travis Michael Deitz.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a brother, John Robert Boheler.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 3 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Bennie Davis, Danny Marshburn and Lester Haney. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Adam Bailey, Johnny White, Barry Sutton, Buck White, Roy Lipsey, Johnny Wyatt and Steve Wells . Daniel Walker Jr. will be honorary pallbearer.

Visitation was held Tuesday, June 3, from 7-9 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 1613 McGill Hwy., Smyrna, S.C. 29743.
