Blood drive

A blood drive for Brittany Jefferson, a recent Limestone track and field recruit who suffered critical injuries in a car accident two weeks ago, will be held Wednesday, June 9, from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. in front of Stephenson Dining Hall on the Limestone College campus. Absentee ballots for the June 10 primary elections may be cast at the voter registration office (Room 1008) at Peachtree Centre, 1434 N. Limestone St., Gaffney. Ballots are available from 8:30-5 p.m. each day and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 7. Only residents who registered to vote prior to May 10 are eligible to vote in the primary. Anyone who needs to make a change of address should visit the Voter Registration office or download a "change of address" form at www.scvotes.org, complete and mail as soon as possible. Iron City Ministries will be closed on Fridays from June to August. The summer operating scheduled is Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until noon.

Bible schools

Central Baptist Church, 500 E. Montgomery St., will have Vacation Bible School themed "Cactus Canyon" on June 8-12 from 6-8:30 p.m. For info, call 864-489-1604.

Vacation Bible School, themed "Outrigger Island - Living God's Unshakable Truth," will be held June 8-12 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 216 Macedonia Road. Kickoff Saturday will be on June 7 from 4-6 p.m.

Crestview Baptist Church, 3010 Chesnee Hwy., will have Vacation Bible School, themed "Outrigger Island - Living God's Unshakable Truth," June 8-13. For more information, call 864- 461-8677.

Church news

The youths of Beaverdam Baptist Church will have a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, June 7, from 2-6 p.m. Plates are $5. Music will be provided by Saved By the Blood and Miracles by Faith. Other activities include a water slide (bring a towel), face painting, and cake walks.

Suck Creek Baptist Church will have a bazaar on Saturday, June 7, in the Family Life Center on Hwy. 11. The yard sale starts at 6 a.m.; free spa sessions at 9:30 a.m.; a silent auction at 10 a.m. and singing at noon. Food and games will be offered at various times throughout the day. Tabernacle of Love Holiness Church on Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, is having its 2008 Camp Meeting this week through June 7. Services are at 7 p.m. There are special preachers and singers each night. For more information, call 489-2819.

Indian Hill Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Mary Jefferies' 17th year of service Jun 7-8. Saturday, June 7, at 5:30 p.m. the Rev. Joyce Murphy will be guest speaker. Rev. Murphy serves Emory and Nazareth United Methodist churches in the Greenwood District, Saluda County and served in Gaffney for nine years a Limestone Street United Methodist Church. On Sunday, June 8, at 3 p.m., the Rev. Mae Francis Golden will be guest speaker. Rev. Golden serves Harrison Grove Baptist Church in Simpsonville.
