Blood drive

A blood drive for Brittany Jefferson, a Limestone College track and field recruit who suffered critical injuries in a car accident two weeks ago, will be held Monday, June 9, from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. in front of Stephenson Dining Hall on the college campus. Fund raisers

Peachtree Centre will have a fish fry fundraiser Friday, June 20, to raise money to purchase a flat screen television for each of the units. Plates will be $5, pick-up only, and will include fish, baked beans, slaw and roll. Orders may be placed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. by calling 487-2717, ext. 205. Orders must be placed by 4 p.m. on June 19. Orders of 10 or more plates made by businesses will be delivered (within reasonable driving distance).

The youths of Beaverdam Baptist Church will have a spaghetti dinner Saturday, June 7, from 2-6 p.m. Plates are $5. Music will be provided by Saved By the Blood and Miracles by Faith. Other activities include a water slide (bring a towel), face painting and cake walks.

White Plains Baptist Church will have its annual Women's Day program Sunday, June 8, at 3 p.m. Minister Ruth Miles of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Cowpens, will be the guest speaker

Suck Creek Baptist Church will have a bazaar Saturday, June 7, in the Family Life Center on Hwy. 11. The Cherokee County Republican Woman's Club will meet Monday, June 9, at 11:45 a.m. at Lighthouse Restaurant on Floyd Baker Boulevard. Guest speaker will be Kim Ellison from the governor's Guardian Ad Litem program.

The Gaffney Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will have a luncheon meeting Monday, June 9, at noon at the House of Pizza on Frederick Street. Absentee ballots for the June 10 primary elections may be cast at the voter registration office (Room 1008) at Peachtree Centre, 1434 N. Limestone St., Gaffney. Ballots are available from 8:30-5 p.m. each day and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 7. Only residents who registered to vote prior to May 10 are eligible to vote in the primary. Anyone who needs to make a change of address should visit the Voter Registration office or download a "change of address" form at www.scvotes.org, complete and mail as soon as possible.
