Farmer's Market to open June 21

The City of Gaffney is proud to announce the opening of its Gaffney Station Farmers Market. The 2008 season will begin with the Grand Opening on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 7 a.m. The Market will open every Saturday from 7 a.m. until 12 noon, and every Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. through October 29, 2008.

Gaffney Station Farmers Market will be located in the city parking lot directly across from the old historic post office building at the intersection of Granard and Frederick Streets.

Local farmers will provide home grown vegetables, fruits and select food items that comply with the guidelines of SCDHEC and/or SCDA. Gaffney Station will be open to producers in Cherokee County and surrounding counties, provided they are certified by Clemson University Cooperative Extension.

Please plan to visit the Gaffney Station Farmers Market on Saturday morning, June 21st. The City of Gaffney is very excited to offer this service in our historic downtown area and hope all its citizens will benefit from this project.

Contact the local Clemson University Cooperative Extension office at (864) 489-3141 or the City of Gaffney Visitor's Center at (864) 487-6244.
