      Daisy Elaise Elliott, 80, of 949 Old Post Road ,went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Startex, she was the wife of Francis L. Elliott and daughter of the late David Lowery and Floy McElvey Lowery. Mrs. Elliott was retired from Oxford Industries of Gaffney and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

      BOLIVAR, Ohio - William S. Champion Sr., 67, formerly of Shelby, N.C., passed away Wednesday morning, June 4, 2008, at Aultman Hospital. William was born on June 19, 1940, in Gaffney, S.C., to the late Jim Ruben and Sissie (Blanton) Champion. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Bay of Pigs.
