LC baseball player garners top honors

Limestone College designated hitter Adam McSwain of Fallston, N.C. was named a Third-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Another Limestone baseball player, outfielder Josh Izokovic, was one of only nine players to receive the national Golden Glove award for fielding excellence.

McSwain, who also was selected to the 2008 First-Team All-Region Team, led the Saints with a .379 batting average and a .631 slugging percentage this season.

He led the Saints with 74 hits, 56 RBIs and 11 home runs. He was also named First-Team All-Conference Carolinas this season.

Izokovic, who earned First Team Golden Glove All-Region honors this spring, played in 50 games with 48 starts for Limestone this year.

A right fielder, he had a flawless fielding percentage and batted .335. He posted 60 hits, 14 doubles and 24 RBIs.
