Salvation Army expresses thanks

Dear Editor:

A word of thanks for the tremendous space and placement you gave to our Salvation Army annual meeting. I know Dr. Ron Barrett will also express his thanks as well.

Your newspaper helped us reach so many more with our message of service in the community. Eighty-eight years is a long time and yet The Gaffney Ledger was even there at the historic dedication of the Cherokee Avenue Corps building in 1928. I found it interesting that the paper in the time capsule was a Saturday edition.

The articles in the paper documented beautifully our beginnings to the present as well as used some of the old images we were able to provide.

We cannot thank you enough for your generous use of your talented staff. There were many details to get right. We were very pleased you gave the event so much valuable space to feature our organization and give us a boost. It all helps.

God bless.

Dick Norris, Lt. Colonel
