ARC is sponsoring disaster preparedness program for seniors

The Cherokee County American Red Cross will present the first in a series of community training programs focusing on disaster preparedness for seniors, "Keeping Seniors Safe," on Saturday, June 14, from 9-10 a.m. at the ARC office at 405 N. Logan St.

The Red Cross, through its partnership with Buford Street Drugs/Ace Hardware and proceeds from the Heroes yard sale in May, will be giving away smoke detectors and radios to all senior citizens attending that need these vital home safety items. Attendance at one of these training programs is required to receive the free items.

Pre-registration is required to reserve a space. To register, call (864) 489-6066 or go by the ARC office.
