Privette - Abernathy vows spoken June 7

Mrs. Tyler Baines Abernathy (Caroline Leigh Privette) Mrs. Tyler Baines Abernathy (Caroline Leigh Privette) Caroline Leigh Privette of Florence ad Tyler Baines Abernathy of Gaffney were married Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church in Florence. The Rev. Steve Turner and the Rev. Dr. Keith Harrill performed the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Maurice Privette of Florence and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Hudson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barney Privette, all of Hartsville. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in advertising.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danner Sherwood Abernathy of Gaffney. His grandparents are Emma Garner Baines, Mary Wright Abernathy, both of Gaffney, the late John Thomas Baines Jr. and the late Fay Sherwood Abernathy. He graduated from University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in teaching. He is employed by Richland School District Two.

Escorted by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Emily Privette Lawery, as matron of honor and Lindsay Rebecca Daniel as maid of honor. Bridesmaids wee anna Catherine Collins, Charlotte Rebecca Lawson, Casey Lynn Ostien and Melissa Kathleen Turner.

Kathryn Elise Phillips, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Lillian Grace Abernathy and Anna Grace Phillips, nieces of the groom.

The groom was attended by his father, Danner Sherwood Abernathy, and his brother, John Danner Abernathy, as best men. Groomsmen were Brad Bowie Brown, Addison Wardlaw Hamrick, Charles Fullerton Hamrick, Michael Scott Leazer, Grayson Baker Oliver and William Roy Privette, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Elliott Lyman Hamrick and William Matthew Wagoner.

Music was provided by Ann Dowling, organist; Nancy Granath, pianist; and Lindsay Rebecca Daniel, soloist.

A reception followed at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Columbia.
