Chaplain Douglas Bryan conducted the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, where a reception, given by the bride's parents, followed at the Sunrise Terrace.

'The Ugly Duckling' comes to local libraries Thursday
      Porkchop Productions will present "The Ugly Duckling" Thursday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Blacksburg Library and at 2:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library in Gaffney. Children of all ages will enjoy Porkchop's fanciful adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale about a misfit duckling trying to find her place in the world.

Shelba Cook CAVA Member of Month for June
      Shelba Cook is the CAVA member of the Month for June. Mrs. Cook earned degrees in art from Limestone College and the University of South Carolina. She was an art teacher in two Spartanburg school districts and in the Cherokee County School District, retiring after 32 years. During her career, her students won numerous awards and she was named S.C. Teacher of the Year.
