Two city council races will be contested

By LARRY HILLIARD Ledger Staff Writer larry@gaffneyledger.com

There won't be a lot of names on the city's August election ballot.

Gaffney Mayor Henry Jolly and District 4 city councilman Dennis Ramsey are the only incumbents facing opposition.

Randall Moore will challenge 2-term incumbent Jolly, while local Realtor Geraldine Fowler will oppose Ramsey.

The other incumbents, council members Wayne Ramsey and Billy Love, face no opposition.

The filing period ended Friday at noon.

The ballot also includes Gaffney Board of Public Works incumbent commissioners Elijah Inabinette and Joe Dean Knuckles, each of whom will run unopposed.
