Ledger photos by TIM GULLA A family that lost their home to a Sunday afternoon fire lost even more on Monday when a shed holding some of their salvaged personal possessions caught fire.

The home on Plantation Road owned by the Teague family broke out in flames Sunday afternoon and was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

Corinth Volunteer Fire Department Chief Nick Scates had said Sunday evening the home was a total loss. Only the exterior walls of the home were standing after the fire, as the roof was completely burned away.

Some personal possessions recovered from the home Sunday were placed in a shed at the rear of the property. It was believed an ember must have found its way into the shed along with the personal possessions, as a smoldering fire broke out in the shed on Monday and brought firefighters back to the scene.

The Teagues declined through a neighbor to talk about their family's losses on Tuesday. The neighbor relayed, however, the Teagues wanted to offer their thanks for all of the help and support they have received.

"He (Eric Teague) wants to thank the Corinth Fire Department and all the people in Laurelwood Subdivision," the neighbor said.

Corinth Fire Department was assisted during its return visit to the property Monday by Gaffney Fire Department and DMW Volunteer Fire Department personnel.
