Bobcats work out
26 players
The Charlotte Bobcats have worked out 26 players so far ahead of the NBA draft. Only a handful are projected as possibilities for the Bobcats with the ninth overall pick.
Many of the workouts have been like Tuesday's group that included Gavin Grant of North Carolina State, Jaycee Carroll of Utah State, Chris Gaynor of Winthrop and center Jeffrey Ferguson, who played at three schools. All four could go undrafted.
Coach Larry Brown has said a handful of players have declined workout invitations. But the Bobcats still hope to get key players in before the June 26 draft. The team has another workout session Wednesday.
Stanford center Brook Lopez and Texas guard D.J. Augustin are possible candidates to end up in Charlotte.
LC tennis team
adds top player
Limestone College Tennis Coach Keith Turner has announced that Dunja Drmac committed to play for the Lady Saints tennis team next season.
Drmac comes to Limestone from Croatia, but spent her last two years at Island City High School in New York.
Dunja was a top 50 player in junior and senior rankings in Croatia.
She was 13-0 her senior year at Long Island City High School and was also ranked No. 2 in the New York City PSAL rankings.
"I am very pleased to announce the signing of Dunja Drmac to the Limestone Saint's Women's Tennis Team," Turner said. "Dunja is a great athlete and a great student. She has experience playing in International Tournaments and will be a force to be reckoned with in Conference Carolinas this coming season. Dunja is originally from Croatia but spent her senior year of high school in New York City to improve her English and get accustomed to living in the United States."
