WEST COLUMBIA - Guynell Rebecca Young Ellis Smith, 81, of 339 Dove Trace Court, formerly of South Green River Road, Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2008, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born n Gaffney, she was the widow of Jack Ellis and Jack Smith and daughter of the late Willie Allen Young and Grace Christine Walker Young. She was a retired registered nurse and member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg.

Surviving are two sons, Kerry D. Ellis and wife, Susan, and Terry W. Ellis and wife, Ann, all of Gaffney; a daugher, Shelia Spencer of West Columbia; five grandchldren, Preston Ellis, Barrett Ellis and wife, Lana, Jonathan Spencer, Daniel Spencer and wife, Amber, and Travis Ellis; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Ellis, Taylor Ellis, Austin Spencer and Autumn Spencer; a nephew raised in the home, Mark Young, and wife, Michelle, of Cowpens; and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

Services will be held Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Brian Harris. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
