      Jennifer Leigh Hames of Blacksburg and Chance Justin McDaniel of Blacksburg were married Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Antioch Baptist Church in Blacksburg. The Rev. C. Vernon Craig performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Wayne Patterson of Earl, N.C.

Library sponsoring gaming tournament for teens June 23, 27
      The Cherokee County Public Library is sponsoring a gaming tournament for teens, "Metamorphosis," in conjunction with the 2008 Summer Reading Program. The tourney will consist of two individuals competing against each other in a Nintendo Wii, Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution match.
