Dog eats rain gutters

The Gaffney Police Department was advised that a dog has an apparent appetite for rain gutters.

According to a police complaint filed June 26, an unknown dog went into a Cooper Street yard between June 25 and June 26 and pulled two drain pipes from a home's gutter downspouts and chewed off the ends. Police listed the suspect simply as "Dog." There was no estimate listed for the damage.

. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of an Old Georgia Highway man after he allegedly stole about $100 in groceries from Ingle's on 3rd Street on June 26.

According to a police report, the grocery store claimed a man left the store in a green Honda car with items he did not pay for. Police said they stopped a car matching the description and found Rosco Leon Morris, 41, in the passenger seat. Police said Morris acknowledged taking the items.

Police recovered five packs of Kraft cheddar cheese blocks, three packs of Kraft sliced cheese, four packs of smoked sausage, four packs of pork chops, five packs of candy and eight packs of Trident gum.

. The Gaffney Police Department is investigating an alleged group assault that occurred on North Limestone Street on June 26.

According to a police report, a 17-year-old West Buford Street man was assaulted by three others as he was leaving his girlfriend's apartment just after 11 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital after the incident to be checked out. No charges were reported as of June 27.
