Cocaine, car, cash seized
The Gaffney Police Department seized more than $28,000 in cash, a car and 130 grams of suspected cocaine after executing a search warrant at a Mill Street home Monday afternoon.
A 30-year-old Cowpens man, Shane Brandon Davidson, of Acorn Drive, was arrested at the scene and booked on cocaine trafficking and simple possession of marijuana charges. He was released from the Cherokee County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon on a personal recognizance bond, according to booking department records.
According to police, the search warrant was executed at about 4:30 p.m. at the Mill Street home. Lt. Doug Whitaker said a white power that field-tested positive for cocaine was found in the home while $28,025 in cash was found in the trunk of a 2000 Saab car that also was searched. The money was in denominations of $20, $50 and $100 amounts.
Police said they also found a small amount of suspected marijuana during the search.
The investigation by the city's Narcotics Unit is ongoing.
