Three teens arrested in home invasion case The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of three people following a Monday evening home invasion on Blue Ranch Road in Gaffney. The sheriff's office claims two 19-year-old men and a 15- year female forcibly entered a home at about 11:30 p.m. Monday and then assaulted and robbed a man. Police arrested Steven Michael Mullinax of Bedford Lane in Blacksburg, Devin Lee Eudy of Faith Road in Gaffney, and a 15-year-old female after they went to Mary Black Hospital to get treatment for one of the male suspects who was struck by the home invasion victim with a hammer. Police said all three suspects were charged with first degree burglary, armed robbery, and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Bonds for the two 19-yearold men were pending as of Tuesday afternoon. The female was released to a guardian. . A box of fireworks was stolen from a Wilcox Avenue business during an early morning break-in July 1. According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, officers responded to Abbott Farms, 100 Wilcox Ave., at about 5 a.m. for an alarm call. Police said they found a door window had been knocked open. A box of fireworks valued at $135 was missing from a rack near the door. Damage is estimated at $200. . The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a June 29 incident during which a man ran out of the Blockbuster video rental store with $120 in video games. According to a police report, the unknown man entered the West Floyd Baker Boulevard store at about 3 p.m. and he ran out of the store at about 3:10 p.m. Police did not say which games the man took. . The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a June 28 incident in which a stolen scooter was taken back to its owner for repair. According to an incident report, a Vesta Drive man took a scooter he purchased for $400 to Area 51 Motorsports on East Frederick Street for some repairs, only to learn the scooter had been stolen from Area 51 Motorsports. A 17-year-old man, Michael Covington of Jasmine Drive, who allegedly sold the scooter to the Vesta Drive man, was arrested on a drug charge June 28 after he was stopped by police and found to have a bag of suspected marijuana in one pocket and an altered screwdriver in another pocket. Police said the screwdriver could be used as a key. . A store at Prime Outlets - Gaffney, reported the theft of a large quantity of shorts and shirts to a pair of shoplifters June 27. According to a police report, workers at the Limited Too allegedly saw two men carrying bags steal as many as 10 pairs of shorts and 10 shirts from the store. The men refused to allow workers to look inside their bags as they were confronted outside the store and walked away. . The Gaffney Police Department filed an arrest warrant against a Cambridge Circle man for an alleged assault that occurred inside the Cherokee County Detention Center on June 24. According to the warrant, Jason William Masters, 34, is accused of assaulting a 53- year River Drive man by striking him numerous times, causing the victim to seek medical attention. Masters is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. . A high-speed police chase ended with a crash on Shelby Highway on June 28, according to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. According to a police report, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 85 early June 28. The vehicle sped up and fled when the officer activated his blue lights and sirens. Police said the driver, Darwin Wayne Dodge, 28, of Deanna Lane, Blacksburg, crashed on Shelby Highway and Old Buffalo Church Road, damaging a pasture fence. The officer wrote in a report he later learned Dodge's drivers license was suspended and there was no insurance on the vehicle. . A Green River Road man's vehicle window was shot out early June 28 as he was driving down the road. According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the man believed the rear window on his truck had been struck by a BB or pellet gun. There was no estimate on the damage. . Flowers placed on a grave in a Chesnee Highway cemetery were stolen recently. A Turner Trail woman reported the thefts of her belongings to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office on June 26.
