BLACKSBURG - Johnnie Lin Goodson, 45, of 210 Mountain View Drive, Apt. 132, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, at her home.

Born in Shelby, Mrs. Goodson and her husband, Danny, had been married for 30 years. She was the daughter of the late John William Smith and Mandy S. Parker of Blacksburg and worked in textiles as a winder.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother, are a son, Bruce Goodson of the home; a daughter, Sherry Goodson of the home; three sisters, Martha Williams of Lawndale, N.C., Margaret Heavener of Blacksburg,and Shirley Porter of Gaffney; and one grandson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goodson was preceded in death by her stepfather, Willard Eugene "Bud" Parker.

Services were held Tuesday, July 1, at 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Pleasant officiating. Interment was in Clingman Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Eric Parker, John Parker, Wayne Porter, Bobby Goodson, Billy Mullinax and Dean Whisnant.

Visitation was held Monday, June 30, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.
