Mae M. Mintz

CHARLOTTE - Mae Mitchem Mintz, 82, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at her home.

Born in Bessemer City, N.C., she was the widow of Joe Mintz and daughter of the late Calvin Mitchem and the late Elizabeth Lanier Mitchem. She worked in medical specialties and was a member of Buffalo Baptist church.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Joe Mintz and companion, Irene Purcell, of Charlotte and Wayne Mintz and wife, Teresa, of Blacksburg; daughters, Cynthia Mintz Evans and husband, Johnny, of Mt. Holly, N.C., and Vicky Mintz Culpepper and husband, Robert, of Oakboro, N.C.; three brothers, Robert Mitchem of East Palatka, Fla., Leroy Mitchem of Clover and Jerry Mitchem of Bedford, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Neal and Mary Crisp of Bessemer City, N.C.; grandchildren, Gina Cline of Mt. Holly, Dana Hartsell of Stanfield, N.C., Krissy Hayslett of Mt. Holly, David Culpepper of Denton, N.C., and Joseph Mintz of Clarksburg; great-grandchildren, Kalin, Branin and Camrin Cline and Taylor Hartswell.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mintz was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Mitchem and William (Bill) Mitchem

Graveside services were held Sunday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dwayne Evans Sr.

Pallbearers were Joseph Mintz, David Culpepper, Jim Cline, Doug Hartsell, Travis Hayslett, John Bolick and Alan Watts.

Visitation was held Saturday, June 28, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.
