2008-07-04 / Other News
Two of the nation's top transportation officials are making a stop in South Carolina.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters and National Highway Traffic Safety Administrator Nicole Nason visited Charleston on Thursday to talk about Fourth of July safety.
Peters talked about drinking and driving, and watched a demonstration of how drunken drivers are caught at a road checkpoint, booked and taken to jail.
She also talked about travel safety tips.
Charleston Chief of Police Gregory Mullen will join Peters and Nason at the event.
