Dolphins capture swim meet

The Cherokee County Family YMCA Dolphins Swim Team hosted a seventeam meet on Saturday, June 21.

The Dolphins held off Hendersonville to win the event. Sumter, Anderson, Union, Orangeburg and Clinton rounded out the order of finish.

Several Dolphins swimmers lowered times and won individual events in their age groups. Taylor Covington won four individual events, Lauren Kirby claimed first in three individual events and Callie Ivey, Tanner McCraw and Vanna Sams claimed a first in an individual event.

Other swimmers lowering times in individual events included Emma Humphries, Molly Humphries, Lance Kirby, Brittany Martin, CiCi Revels, Greta Sams and Jasmine Tate.
