We realize you are excited about your candidacy and want to make residents aware that you are in the race.

We want to help toward that end but

we must ask that

you comply with the following guidelines regarding the submission of statements announcing your candidacy:

Statements must be submitted to us no later than 10 days prior to the election date. Any statements submitted outside of that time frame will be discarded;

Statements will appear as we receive them and as space allows;

Statements should be no longer than 650 words;

Statements may be accompanied by a head-and-shoulders photo of the candidate (preferably a digital color) version - we cannot accept photos taken with cell phone cameras;

Statements are subject to editing for length and clarity.

Statements and photos become property of the newspaper and will not be returned.
