Doris Smith

GREENVILLE - Doris "Dot" Marilyn Ellenburg Smith, 80, widow of Hubert Gaines "Smitty" Smith, died Monday, July 7, 2008.

Born in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late Claude Frank and Beulah Ables Ellenburg. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and member of Southside Baptist Church in Piedmont.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Lee Massey and her husband, Bud, and Susan Faith Merritt and Philip Lingerfelt; a son, Jerry Norton Smith and his wife, Beth; three grandchildren, Amie Proctor and husband, Billy Cooley, Jessica Merritt and Michael Hooper, and Kevin Smith; five sisters, Ethel McElveen, Ann Newton, Frances Sisk, Joyce Burkett, Janet Moore; and a brother, Joe Ellenburg.

Service will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Piedmont.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 8, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
