Man accused of dumping beer on his neighbor

A Buford Street man is accused of taking a swing at a neighbor during a dispute.

Rodney Eugene McDowell, 47, of 815 W. Buford Street, Apt. 9B, was arrested and charged with simple assault and battery following the alleged July 12 incident.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, McDowell allegedly dumped beer and chips on a woman before punching her in the face with a closed fist.

The report states the impact from the punch knocked a tooth from the woman's mouth.

The Gaffney Police Department served an arrest warrant July 13 on a 48-yearold city man accused of assaulting his ex-wife with a firearm.

Terry Wood, of 157 Concord Heights Road, has been charged with assault and assault and battery with intent to kill after allegedly firing shots into a Buford Street apartment.

According to a report at the police department, Wood shot through the back patio door of the residence before fleeing in a green Ford truck.

The woman received medical attention for an injured eye sustained during the incident, according to the report.

Wood faces additional charges of damage to property and malicious damage to property, according to police.

The theft of an air conditioning unit from a Windslow Avenue winery may have resulted in more damage than expected.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, between July 8 and July 12 someone made off with the unit, leaving an estimated $125,000 worth of wine stock to spoil in hot weather.

Theft loss from the air conditioning unit are estimated at $3,500.

Police are processing tire tracks and footprints left at the scene.

Gaffney Police Department officers said Jerom Lipscomb, believed to be between 21 to 25-years old, of 337 Providence Road, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature after allegedly using a "sharp weapon" during a confrontation with another man between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on July 12.

According to a police report, Lipscomb struck the man with a "sharp weapon" during an argument. The victim suffered cuts to his face and back.

Police said Lipscomb had bite marks and needed stitches to close an injury to his lip.

The Gaffney Police Department is looking into a drive-by shooting that occurred during the morning hours of July 13.

According to a police report, several people were standing outside a residence in the 100 block of Camellia Circle just before 4:30 a.m. when someone inside a blue sport utility vehicle began firing from the automobile.

No one was injured, though bullets damaged a rear taillight and front tire on the passenger's side of a white 2000 Jeep.

Two men were arrested after allegedly trying to make off with several items from a Prime Outlets - Gaffney store, police said.

Rene Correa and Eduardo Rodriguez, both 30, of San Juan Puerto, Rico, were charged with shoplifting more than $1,000 of merchandise.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, Correa and Rodriguez were found leaving the Coach Store with 14 handbags and a scarf with a combined value of $2,384.

The report also stated additional handbags valued at $378 apiece were reported missing.

An estimated $600 in tools and other items were reported stolen July 10 from a storage locker on North Logan Street.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, the victim last visited the locker July 5. The lock had been cut from the storage locker in order for the thief or thieves to gain access. Total theft losses are estimated at $800.
