BRYSON CITY, N.C. - Barbara Roberts Shuler, 75, of the Deep Creek community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at her residence.

An active member of Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Troy Charlie and Margaret Batchelor Roberts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shuler was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Roberts and Lawrence Roberts, and a sister Shirley Roberts.

Surviving are her husband Jack Shuler; two daughters, Sherry Watson of Lugoff and Debra Shetley of Candler, N.C.; a son, Perry Shuler of Bryson City; a brother, Leon Roberts of Rota, Spain; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Codgill and Jack Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Swain Memorial Park.

Visitation was held Thursday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Crisp Funeral Home.
