Doris J. Smith

ENTERPRISE, Ala. - Doris James Smith, 85, formerly of Sixth Street, Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2008, in Enterprise.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Claude T. Smith and daughter of the late Malcolm B. James and the late Cordie Leazer James. Mrs. Smith was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Christian Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Claudia Ingrid Schaefer of Enterprise; a grandson, Gary Eugene Schaefer; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Roddy Dale Smith, three brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Randy McCraw officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.
