Disturbance call leads to arrest of Gaffney man A 60-year-old Gaffney man was arrested Friday evening after police claimed he fired a gun while drunk at home. James Michael Studyvance, of 102 Oakview Drive, was charged by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office with discharging a firearm while intoxicated. The alleged incident occurred at 10 p.m. Lt. R.W. Turner responded to Studyvance's home in reference to a disturbance call, according to an incident report on file at the sheriff's office. According to the report, Turner found Studyvance had discharged a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. Studyvance was placed under arrest and transported to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Studyvance registered a .10 blood alcohol level during a breathalyzer test, the report states. A Gaffney woman claims $3,000 in collectable coins recently vanished from her residence. NED & OPERATED Mary G. Long, 57, reported various Susan B. Anthony silver dollars and Eisenhower coins were stolen from a crate in the closet of her Lipscomb Circle home, according to an incident report filed Saturday at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. The theft is believed to have occurred between June 19 at 6 p.m. and July 19 at 1 p.m. |
