GHS season tickets go on sale Aug. 4 School officials insist extra care has been taken not to fumble the reserved seating plan at the new Gaffney High football stadium. Current ticket holders will be able to purchase their $36 reserved season tickets and an assigned parking spot from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between Aug. 4 and Aug. 7. That seat location won't change much from where season ticket holders watched games at Brumbach Stadium, school officials said. "The new stadium is not an exact replica of Brumbach Stadium, but every effort has been made to locate seats as close as possible to previous seating," Gaffney High School Principal Marlene Davis wrote in a letter to high school supporters. "An overlay of the old stadium was placed over plans of the new structure. Seats may have been moved slightly to the left or to the right to accommodate aisles but care was taken to be fair to season ticket holders." "Experience tells us that it is impossible to make everyone happy, but we have tried," the letter added. The season tickets include $6 home games, including the stadium opener on Friday, Aug. 29, against rival Dorman. Parking is expected to be at a premium at the new stadium. So for every two season tickets purchased, that person can secure a numbered parking spot for $15. "That space will be yours and no one else will be able to park there," the letter said. The parking spaces will be located in the main parking lot in front of the high school and in the parking lot closest to the stadium. Remaining tickets for the general public will go on sale during school hours from Monday, Aug. 11, until Thursday, Aug. 14. A final inspection of the new 8,000 seat stadium is expected soon. |
