Richard Bradley

Retired from Duke Power Nuclear Plant

Richard Ray Bradley, 76, of 303 Kraft St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Highlands, N.C., he was the son of the late Mack Bradley and Jessie Towe Bradley. Mr. Bradley was retired from Duke Power Nuclear Plant and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his companion, Ruth Evelyn Smith of the home; a son, Gary Bradley of Estill; a daughter, Debbie Gentry of Pickens; a stepson, Roy Parker of Columbia; two stepdaughters, Ruth Ann McQueeney and husband, Steve, of Cowpens and Sara Wilson of Gaffney; a sister, Gertrude Weller of Clearwater, S.C.; three grandchildren, Steven Bradley, Michelle Bradley and Brad Gentry; seven stepgrandchildren, Wendy Smith, Beth Wilson, Jessica Lage, Holly Parker, Joseph Lage, Kelly Parker and Roy Parker II; two great grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 24, from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m in the chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Sara Wilson, 205 Filter Plant Road, Gaffney.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615; or the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, S.C. 29650.
