Bowmans headline concert July 29 at Blacksburg library

The Blacksburg Public Library will host local entertainers Doc Bowman and his son, Craig, for a lunchtime concert as part of the Cherokee County Public Library's "Music Sandwiched-In" series. The concert will be at the Blacksburg library on Tuesday, July 29, from 12:15-1 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will serve a free lunch.

Doc Bowman has been playing bluegrass for 32 years. He plays the dobro and banjo in the bluegrass band Carolina Rail. The group recorded a CD last year.

Craig Bowman has been playing the guitar for eight years. Currently, he is attending Winthrop College studying the jazz guitar. He also plays with the rock band Who Doo.

Each year, Doc and Craig attend the Old Time Fiddlers Convention in Galax, Va., and the Maury River Fiddlers Convention in Buena Vista, Va.
