The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early Wednesday morning incident during which a 34-year-old man walking along Old Georgia Highway allegedly was assaulted by an angry motorist. According to a police report, a 34-year-old Seminole Trail man was walking along the highway with his girlfriend when a car almost hit them. More ... LIGHTNING RODS? - Lightning knocked over two giant oak trees Monday evening behind the home of McKown's Mountain resident Lewis Moss. One of the trees leveled a corn crib Moss had built in 1946 shortly after coming home from serving in the military.
