A big event scheduled for here in September
Dear Friends in Cherokee County:
I hope and pray all is going well for you personally, your family, and that you are enjoying life to the fullest!
As you may have heard, after serving for 31 years as a pastor and 12 years before that in various church ministries, we have resigned from the pastorate of the First Baptist Church in Boone, N.C.., to launch full-time into Diversified Ministries of Wayne and Joy Brown.
The subtitle is BRIDGE = B R I D G E = Building Relationships Individually Domestically Globally Evangelistically.
We have felt God's call for us to try to enhance missions awareness through leading short-term mission trips locally, nationally, and worldwide. We also feel led to provide conferences and retreats for ministers, missionaries, and their families, as well as events for all persons, for encouragement and renewal.
This coming Sunday, Aug. 3, at 10:45 a.m. we will share about this new ministry at the First Baptist Church in Blacksburg (my home church) and at 6 pm at East Gaffney Baptist Church in Gaffney, which is Joy's home church. We also will share at the Nazareth Baptist Church in Blacksburg on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
We appreciate these opportunities and we will be very grateful for your prayers for this Global Outreach. We also will be happy to share anytime at your church, business, or school, if God leads you to invite us.
We also want to invite you to hear about a BIG EVENT that is scheduled for Cherokee County in September. A friend of ours, Kimberly Sowell, from Lancaster, has a ministry known as Kingdom Heart Ministries. She is sponsoring In These Last Days Women's Revival Tour. This is a nationwide event and the first one is scheduled for Cherokee County.
While we are in Blacksburg and Gaffney next week, we will be honored to meet with any of you who are interested in hearing about the REVIVAL TOUR. Please encourage your pastor, ministers, church staff, and any persons who may be interested from all churches as we try to explain about the REVIVAL TOUR and the impact it can have for Cherokee County, not just as a "one-time scheduled event," but for the future as well.
We will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m., at the Voice of Triumph Church on Corry Road, off Ligon Drive, which is off Hwy. 29, south of Blacksburg. For directions or information, please call Rev. Danny Marshburn at (864) 490-4964.
On Thursday, Aug. 7, at 9:30 a.m., we will share about the REVIVAL TOUR at the Broad River Baptist Association Office at 100 Railroad Ave. in downtown Gaffney.
For further information or details, please call Reverend Donnie Padgett at (864) 489-3119.
Please feel free to come to either of these locations, or you may attend both sessions.
We also encourage you to invite others to come with you. The In These Last Days Women's Revival Tour will be a great interdenominational event and a spiritually encouraging time for Cherokee County. Thank you, in advance, for coming to hear the details and to ask any questions. We will be grateful and appreciative for your concern, interest, and help!
We love and appreciate "you all" and the wonderful privilege and responsibility we all have together in sharing the glorious Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Please call on us at anytime if we can ever be of help to you in any way. Joy = (828) 773-2262 and Wayne = (828) 773- 0673.
We look forward to seeing you, if at all possible, for any of the events next week while we are "back home" in Cherokee County. God bless you.
Joy joins me . . . . . . . Gratefully and prayerfully, in Jesus' love, Wayne Brown 375 West King Street Boone, North Carolina 28607
