CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mary S. Hudson, 48, of 5314 Christenbury Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her home.

Mary was born in Gaffney on Jan. 4, 1960. She was the daughter of Lillie Jefferies of Charlotte and the late Thomas E. Smith. She attended Garinger High School and later devoted her life to caring for others through private duty nursing. She was married to the late Willie J. Hudson.

She is survived by her son, Cory Smith Hudson of Charlotte; two daughters, Yolanda S. Parker of Charlotte and Melinda S. Wilson of Raleigh; two grandchildren, three sisters, Zelda Smith Gaither, Elaine Smith Pickens and Becky Smith, all of Charlotte; three brothers, Johnny Smith, T.G. McGill and Douglas Morgan, all of Charlotte; and many more relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 2, at Grace Tabernacle of Prayer, 2005 Beatties Ford Road. The family will be at the home of her sister, Zelda Gaither, 5314 Chistenbury Road, immediately after service.
