3 crows test positive for West Nile

COLUMBIA - The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control has confirmed West Nile virus in three birds so far for the 2008 season.
The confirmed cases, all American crows, were found in Summerville, Rock Hill and Spartanburg.
People can protect themselves from mosquito bites by:
Using a repellent containing DEET, Picaridin, oil of lemon, eucalyptus or IR3535. Follow the label directions when using any repellent;
Keeping property clear of standing water in which mosquitoes can breed; and
Keeping screens on windows and doors in good repair.
