Barbara Ann Smith Neff, 70, of 105 Forest Hills Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Virginia, she was the wife of Jack Neff and daughter of the late Harvey Smith and Virgie Ruff Smith. Mrs. Neff was an employee of Goodyear for 25 years and was former owner/operator of Rutherford Jewelers. She was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed reading and painting.

Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Meador and husband, Steve, of Mt. Pleasant and Leslie Brown and husband, Ronnie, of Gaffney; a brother, Harvey Smith, and a sister, Pauline Booth, both of Roanoke, Va.

Mrs. Neff was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Smith and Mary Wright, and a brother, Paul Smith.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stuart A. Kersey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Cherokee County Children's Home, P.O. Box 1896, Gaffney, S.C. 29342; or The Salvation Army, 601 Colonial Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
