Glenn Kirby

Retired from Kohler Co.

PACOLET - Glenn Willis Kirby, 72, of 510 N. Hwy. 150, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Garnette Silver Kirby and son of

the late Leonard

Bernard Kirby and

Roselle Hames Kirby. He was retired from Kohler Company, where he worked for 45 years, and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Pacolet First Baptist Church.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert Kirby and wife, Lynn, and Ronnie Kirby and wife, Sonya, all of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Steven Kirby, Dylan Kirby and Cody Kirby.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Kirby Brabham.

Services were held Sunday, Aug. 10, at 4 p.m. at Pacolet First Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Joel Gardner and Tommy Sparks. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6-8 p.m at Blakely Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 310 W. Main St., Pacolet, S.C. 29372.

The family will be at the residence.
