Born in Shelby, N.C., he was the husband of Shirley White Ellis and son of the late General Weaver (G.W.) Ellis and Kate Mintz Ellis. He was retired from Nestlé and was of the Baptist faith.

      Services for Amy Davis Foster, 95, of 303 Granite Drive, widow of Deacon William Foster Sr., will be held Monday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Freddy Davidson, Mary D. Jefferies, Doris Mooney and Lee Byers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Born in Cherokee County, she was the widow of Roy Lee Phillips and daughter of the late Robert Edmond Scruggs and Lillie Martin Scruggs. Mary was a simple woman with a big heart.

Born in Virginia, she was the wife of Jack Neff and daughter of the late Harvey Smith and Virgie Ruff Smith. Mrs. Neff was an employee of Goodyear for 25 years and was former owner/operator of Rutherford Jewelers.

Son of Blanche Rice Johnson of Gaffney and the late Wellna Johnson, he was born on July 4, 1953, in Cherokee County. At an early age, he joined Southern Baptist Church in East Elmhurst, N.Y.
