Daddy Joe's will host fundraiser for Miracle Hill Rescue Mission

      Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ and Grill will be open Sunday, Aug. 24, as a fund-raiser for Miracle Hill Rescue Mission in Cherokee County, a not-forprofit ministry that helps provide for the hurting and the homeless and is a Harbor of Hope in the Upstate.

      Dear Annie: I'm a proud father of two handsome boys, ages 14 and 11. Their mother and I are divorced. I recently found out through DNA testing that my 14-year-old is not my biological son. This has devastated my family. When I called my ex-wife about it, she responded, "Whatever," and hung up the phone. I haven't spoken to her since, so I got no apology or anything.

'Country preacher' will lead revival at West End
      Preferring the title "Country Preacher-at-Large," Evangelist David Miller of Heber Springs, Ark., will bring the messages at revival services Aug. 17-20 at 6:30 p.m. at West End Baptist Church. "Rev. Miller is one of the most gifted communicators I have ever heard and, due to a muscle disease, he does it from a wheelchair," said West End's pastor, the Rev. Rodney Cook.
