Bethany Baptist Church, 215 Wilkinsville Hwy., will host a community-wide block party on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 4-7 p.m.

Children and adults are welcome to come take part in recreation, crafts and Bible study. The evening will end with a hot dog cookout.

The Rev. Roger W. Ham, pastor of Bethany, said he wishes to thank individuals and businesses that contributed to the benefit for PeachCenter Ministries that was held on Saturday, Aug 2.

"A total of $857 and two truckloads of clothes were donated to help the needy in Cherokee County," Rev. Ham said. Groups providing entertainment for the occasion were Living Proof, a men's quartet from Southside Baptist Church, and also Southside's women's ensemble;the praise team from Park Hills Baptist Church, the praise and worship ensemble from Central Baptist Church; and His Forever from Kirby Memorial Baptist Church.

PeachCenter Ministries is in need of a refrigerator and upright freezer to store perishable items that are donated.
