Thickety Mountain Baptist Association will host its annual back-to-school youth conference Saturday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the cafeteria at Gaffney Middle School. Themed "Overcoming the Hurdles of Life," the event is sponsored by the Junior Missionaries and other Cherokee County churches.

Sessions for youths ages three to 10 will be conduced by Phyllis Logan of Island Creek Baptist Church, Minister Ruby Miller of Youngs Grove Baptist Church, Minister Dorthy Davis of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Claudia Johnson of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Trina Brown of Bethel Baptist Church. Sessions for girls ages 11-18 will be led by Minister Angie Early of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, Minister Jennifer Hemphill of Bethel Baptist Church and Minister Deborah Livsey of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Sessions for boys ages 11-18 will be conducted by Les Davis of Youngs Grove Baptist Church, Minister Michael Hull of Youngs Grove Baptist Church and Minister Vincent Wilkins of Bethel Baptist Church.

Justine Lincoln of Suck Creek Baptist Church will serve as the emcee with a sermonette by Minister Princess Smith of Limestone Baptist Church.
