Alfrieda W. Bonner
Former dispatcher for Gaffney Police Department
Alfrieda Watkins Bonner, 62, of 520 W. Robinson St., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was a daughter of the late J.B. and Queen Camp Watkins. She was a 1964 graduate of Granard High School, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a member of Ladies' Auxiliary of VFW Post 10431, and a former dispatcher for the City of Gaffney Police Department.
Surviving are a daughter, Jervonda Watkins of the home; god children, Julia Lattimore and Kimberly Love of Gaffney, Kimberly McKnight of Spartanburg and Audrey Blue of Walterboro; a sister, Susie Phillips of Gaffney; seven aunts, Mattie Valentine, Nora Fernanders, O.Z. Woods, O'Leatha Smith, Luella Quincy, E.Z. Watkins and Juliette Camp; and two uncles, James Camp and Horace Watkins.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church Saturday at noon.
