James William Duncan Sr.
BLACKSBURG - James William (Bill) Duncan Sr., 73, of 240 Caldwell Road, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at his home.
Born in Gaffney, Mr. Duncan was the widower of Mearl D. Duncan and son of the late James Henry and Fannie Luella Cothran Duncan. He worked as a printer in textiles and was a member of First Tabernacle in Gaffney.
Surviving are three daughters, Teresa Donaldson of the home, Tina Owens and Cherri Davis, both of Gaffney; three sons, James William Duncan Jr., Randy Lee Duncan and Ricky Douglas Duncan, all of Gaffney; two brothers, Frank Duncan and Junior Duncan, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Betty Duncan of Gaffney and Bunt Duncan of Charlotte; 23 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, in Gordon Mortuary Chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Betty Gentry officiating. Body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary and at other times they will be at the residence.
