Former member of BPW Club and Gladiolus Society

LEXINGTON - Raymoth Mullinax Stephenson Hamrick, 91, formerly of 401 Forest Lane, Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Carroll Campbell Place in Lexington.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Charles Hamrick of Gaffney, widow of George Lewis Stephenson Sr. and daughter of the late Claude Mullinax Sr. and Mattie Byars Mullinax. She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Gladiolus Society and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Hamrick was a homemaker and member of Providence Baptist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Bill Mullinax and wife, Linda, of Gaffney and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband and parents, Mrs. Hamrick was preceded in death by two sons, George Lewis Stephenson Jr. and John Haile Stephenson; two brothers, Claude Mullinax Jr. and Bobby Mullinax; and two sisters, Inez Swofford and Virginia Nicholson.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 15, from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Peeler officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
