Two council members sued by Preston

ANDERSON — Former Cherokee County administrator Joey Preston, now Anderson County's administrator, has sued two Anderson County Council members, saying he wants to stop them from directing county employees.

The Anderson Independent-Mail reported Friday that Preston sued council members Cindy Wilson and Bob Waldrep earlier this week.

Waldrep said his actions were a result of his trying to gain access to public records. Wilson also has been involved in legal actions against the county over information access. She would not talk about the latest lawsuit, saying she hasn't seen it.

The lawsuit seeks temporary and permanent injunctions against Waldrep and Wilson from giving directions to county workers. Preston says it's important to avoid conflicting orders for county employees.
