Pair exchange vows in Aug. 2 ceremony at First Baptist Church

MR. AND MRS. KYLE LEE SHY Tabitha Renee Vaughan of Gaffney and Kyle Lee Shy of Blacksburg exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Gaffney. Captain Michael McCawley, U.S. Army chaplain, conducted the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Debbie Vaughan of Gaffney and Rick Vaughan of Louisville, Ky. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Vinson of Shepherdsville, Ky., Doris Vaughan of Louisville, Ky., and the late Robert Vaughan. A 2007 graduate of Gaffney Senior School, she attended Limestone College.

The groom is the son of Barry and Roxsan Gibson of Blacksburg and grandson of Peggy Gibson of Blacksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gene Price. A 2005 graduate of Blacksburg High School, he is an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force Military Police.

The couple will make their home at Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu, Hawaii, after a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Music was provided by Becky Varner, pianist; Natalie Bolden, Dr. Craig Karriker and Chase Fowler, vocalists. Ms. Bolden and Dr. Karriker sang "When God Made You" and Mr. Fowler sang "Inside Your Heaven."

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Lacee Dillingham of Blacksburg as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Missy Gilbert, Christina Stuard, sisters of the groom, Kristen Oliver, Taylor Wright, Brittany Cobb, Miranda Borders and Clary Varner.

Krista Barker and Karoline Nelson, nieces of the groom, were flower girls and Julian Stuard, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

John Porter of Blacksburg attended the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Vaughan, brother of the bride, Keith Stuard, brother of the groom, Nathan Patterson, Adam Kirby, Alex Bailey, Brad Bailey and Hunter Felkel.

A reception featuring an upstate party and events in downtown Gaffney was given by the bride's father and grandmother.
