Martha Beatrice Patterson Randolph, 96, of 307 Oak Ridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of J. Grady Randolph and daughter of the late J.W. Patterson and Delphia Kitchens Patterson. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a retired bookkeeper for J. Grady Randolph Inc. Mrs. Randolph was a member of New Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, James Grady Randolph and wife, Mary, Bobby Joe Randolph and wife, Shirley, Charles Lee Randolph and wife, Andrea, and William Arthur Randolph and wife, Phyllis, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Martha Randolph Marett and husband, Danny, of Gaffney; 12 grandchildren, Jimmy Randolph, Mark Randolph, Billy Randolph, Jennifer Purdy, Heather Carter, Hope Greene, Amy Acker, Michael Brown, Faith Marett, Rory Marett, Kristine Kerr and Katherine Kerr; two brothers, Charles Patterson and Grady Patterson of Gaffney; 14 great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Martha Jean Houey, Betty Smith, Carolyn Tyson, Dot Hardy and Annie Houey.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, Paul Patterson, J.W. Patterson, Walter Patterson, Nesbitt Patterson, Otis Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Mason Patterson, Hugh Patterson and a baby boy.

Cryptside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the mausoleum.
